When I wanted to buy a property abroad, I didn't really know where to turn. There were a lot of companies offering fantastic properties, so that wasn't a problem. It was everything else. There'd been horror stories about people buying houses abroad only to find out too late that the houses were illegal; many of them were pulled down at a dreadful loss to the owners. And the whole process of buying property abroad just seemed so hard – I didn't even know which questions to ask.

I wanted to be sure that buying my overseas investment or holiday home was as risk-free as possible; I also wanted it to be as easy as possible.

I couldn't find anyone to do those two simple things, so I started Rivermead. My aim is to make choosing your property the hardest thing you do; the rest will be a piece of cake.

I won’t abandon you once you’ve bought your property either. A client is always a client; if you ever have any queries or issues, call me.

Golf, ski, beach?

As a keen golfer and having friends/clients who are keen skiers, I know what people want from a property near these sports. Aspect, size, view, proximity to ski slope, ski lifts or golf course, evening sun, access to beach – we’ll sort all that out before you make any decision to buy.

Due diligence

All our properties have had Due Diligence carried out before they’re even advertised. Permission to build, land ownership and the building license are all confirmed, reducing the risk as much as possible. Certain investment deals might be advertised before the final build licenses are confirmed, but this will be made quite clear in the advertisement.

We pester the developer, not you

During the build stage, we pester developers for forecasts and photos, which gives you reassurance.

It’s entirely up to you. I can help with all the bits that come after choosing your property, but only if you want that help.

Customer satisfaction is my primary focus. Rivermead is only as good as the service we gave to our last client, and many clients refer their colleagues, personal friends and family to me. 

It costs you nothing

We receive commission from developers on property or land sold, so you don’t pay us at all. Incidentally, we never handle any monies; all transactions are carried out through currency accounts, solicitors or agents.
